Lifelong learning

The Memorial Art Gallery is a place to see and learn about art. There are programs for everyone, from families to mature adults, from novices to experts.

  • Explore the Gallery on free docent-led tours of the Gallery and special exhibitions.
  • Attend illustrated lectures and gallery talks by distinguished scholars and artists, speaking on topics ranging from ancient archaeology to contemporary criticism.
  • Listen to concerts on the Italian Baroque organ, situated in the midst of artwork of the same period, or come hear the Society for Chamber Music perform several times yearly.
  • Participate in the dynamic, interactive series of annual cultural celebrations, including Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month, Kwanzaa, Black History Month, and Asian Pacific American Family Day.

Special programs: Please call the Education Department at 585.276.8970 two weeks in advance to request these services.

  • Sign language interpretation is available for all programs.
  • Touch tours are available for visitors who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Tours for people living with Alzheimer's & related dementia and their care givers: watch this Alzheimer's Association video.
